Well, my pumpkin stopped growing well short of being a "giant"...No growth after about day 50.
Drats.
Question is: what do I do now to make sure I still have an intact fruit for weighoffs and/or halloween? Leave it on the vine? Or cut it off and move it to my cooler/darker garage?

I would leave it on the vine unless you feel that the vine is sick. If that is the case move it out of direct sun and to the coolest spot available. Be sure to keep dry also. If using the garage keep it off the concrete I believe I heard that will suck the water right out of the pumpkin causing light weight.

I also read that pumpkins lose a lot of water through evaporation after being cut from the vine.
