My pumpkin was starting to rot. I do not have any other pumpkins growing. I do not see any other female blooms in the patch on two plants. Would it be safe to say my season is over? My vines are still growing and healthy.. Just few male flowers still blooming. What do you guys think, how long should I just wait it out?

I wouldn't quit after putting that much effort especially with healthy plants... even if it just meant a few that weighed 100 pounds for the porch.

Ryan, dont pull her just keep watering your plant and she should put out a few more females, might be on a sidevine but as a new grower you can use all the experiance you can get. dont prun any more vines...

That's exactly what I did last year. Now, whether it is paying off is questionable!! Let it grow treat it like you still have all season to grow a big one. Hone your skills, and read everything on this site. Next year you'll be suprised at how proactive you'll be! BSD, David

Hey! Someone from Indiana. Your fine, especially with an established plant. We grow in the river bottoms and due to flooding there are times the seed isn't in the ground until mid July. In those years we usually only get around 200-400 pumpkins between 150 to 200lbs. We never plant before June 1st because that is just throwing money away. We usually aim for 200 through 600lb pumkins. We do have one that just set this week so following history we should break 600lbs. barring crows, deer, squirrels, etc....

Idk if there is a major problem with my plants or not! But thanks for all the cheering heads up guys. I think I have a wilt problem.. Water em and they seem to perk up. Yeah, I'll be happy to have a pumpkin ready for fall fest at the end of Sept. If the pumpkin gods would give me a helpin hand! lol =) until then, I got watermelon to keep me smiling.
