How much time should I allow for full growth of my pumpkins compared to my weigh off dates. I only have two plants and on my main plant I have one set at 11 ft and it seems to be growing fairly well. The vine positioning is good as well as its shape. It is on day 12. My backup has one set at 9ft and is about the same. My vines are still growing but most females have aborted past this. My weigh off dates are in the first week of October and I dont know whether to work with the ones I have set or hope another female takes further on the vine. Is there any "average" time from the set of the fruit till it reaches its max. Thanks in advance.

This is considered late. Stick with the ones you got if they look normal and are growing. It will be almost impossible to set another one in this heat wave. Sometimes once you have a pumpkin going the plant will abort all the other pumpkins also.

from date of pollination a fruit usually will grow between 90 to 100 days before stopping completely. sometimes you get lucky and go a bit past 100 days as well. a lot depends on the health of the fruit and plant as well as late season temps, weather, etc when considering days of expected growth.

the official planting day for competitors is may 21-24 after frost is gone flower should be 12 feet from main stem to prevent stem stress or uprooting also hand pollination is the best around week of June 7th-15th as the second flower may show its face not the first flower it will uproot or fall off most cases or crack as it gets bigger u want 2nd flower 12-17 feet from transplant i hope this helps
