Croley, I've been practicing getting the vines up near the female even before pollination, preparing the vine direction and all. A couple of roots are still intacked at the next node(streched out a bit)should those be cut or wait till it needs the slack?? Tammy my 740 is kickin, got one five days old and smokin' I'll get new pic up tomorrow.BSD, David

Not sure what you mean by streched out..but you see what happens if you wait too long. I usually cut the two nodes on each side of the fruit.

It doesn't look like the split goes into the cavity. I think that pumpkin would make it if there is no backup.
