This is my second year in growing pumpkins with my first not being very successful. I have learned many things from reading post on this site and to everyone thank you. I recently received results of my soil test and it shows a surplus of N in the soil. The amounts of P and K were considered to be sufficient. My AG is growing fairly well now, but started very slowly. My main vine is 7' out but I am concerned that I will not get any females to grow because of the N levels. Is there a way to reduce the N level or should this not be much of a concern.

With the rain we've had here in Ohio thus far and unless you have added N, it shouldn't be an issue. Nitrogen leeches quickly.

You can add some phos,, either liquid,or grandular,, the phos. promots flowering

Thanks for the advice. Hoping this year is better than last but I got a late start because of all the rain we had here. My soil drainage is average at best but I am going to keep on learning and looking for that big one. Thanks again
