is a kink in the main vine ok?

It's never OK, but not catastophic either. I had three vines kink as they laid down and I positioned them as best I could without stressing around the kinked area. I find kinks are most prone in areas which have a leaf stalk growing from the bottom of the main or one gets a little anxious in training the main downward. In that case, I dig out beneath the area where the leaf originates. As long as no crack occurs, you'll be OK.

Lots of folks try to train their main vines downward...lots of folks forget to support under the main to let it down slowly!!! Both types of support are needed until main is down on the ground!!! Do it slowly, during the warm part of the day...cold vines are brittle!!! Peace, Wayne
