I've been given some seeds this winter and among them the few that I will plant, a few I'll spend on setting up and testing my germination station, and the rest will go into long term storage. I guess from the posts I read the freezer would be the place for the long term storage??? What about the short term? I received the first seeds in September from TNTammy, they have been kept at room temp. Some I have received are a couple yrs old already. BSD, David

I keep most of my seeds in mason jars in the fridge. Have never had a problem with germination, even with older seeds.
Other seeds are just in paper bags in my dry storage (pantry).

If your not sure of planting time I would freeze seeds, make sure there 3-4 months old to be safe.Seeds have a shelf life of about 7-10 years. In freezer 30 years & up.I put mine in mini-plastic zip-baggies individually & then I place that baggie in a perscription bottle thats air tight,I can put several in 1 bottle. When I need a seed I can reach in freezer, read cap, pull 1 seed out, bottle never leaves the freezer.Better to freeze & re-freeze a couple times(power outage)whatever, then to let them dry out under your desk,I did notice people seem to be afraid of freezing, just make sure there double wrapped air tight.
