Eagle is a chemical fungicide that exhibits both contact and local penetrant (systemic) properties.
Milk is an organic contact protectant that controls powdery mildew by altering the Ph of the leaf surfaces making the environment inhospitable to the developing pm spores.
Eagle should be applied weekly after dark. Milk does best twice weekly but I've never seen phyto even applied at midday in heat.
Eagle is the best in it's class. Milk is a class in its self but also works very well.

Where can I get Eagle? How does it compare to Captan? As for milk, are we talking milk that you buy at a grocery store?
Rybec, can you email me off-list at yorunk13@att.net. I'm your neighbor in Aurora.

Yes the same milk we put on the table. I sell Eagle but we don't ship it. Tom at Extreme probably has it.

What type of milk (%) and how do you apply it? Dilution rate...

Is Eagle better than Captan? I have read that growers use Captan to dress seeps, splits, etc.

yorunk, most milk users use 2% storebought milk at anywhere from 10-40% w/ water! As a preventative action, by changing ph level on the leaves. Hope this helps. Peace, Wayne PS...correct again, Eagle is used as a foliar spray, and Captan (here anyways) as a dust type powder, direct onto new cuts, (trimmed vine ends, etc).

This may be a dumb question, but won't the milk turn sour on the leaves from the heat and sun?

Sort of and yes, that is why it works.
2% low fat milk is fine.
Mix at 10-40% solution which is 13-52 oz milk per gallon of water.

What is the best time to spray milk? Our nights are very damp and humid, to the point the leaves look like it rained on them.

What about the sun on the leaves right after spraying?

Tremor, why does Eagle need to be sprayed after dark? Can I spray it before dusk as I do the others? And will heavy dampness overnight affect it?

The Eagle label is per 100 gallons which treats 1-2 acres.
Since we're making up single gallons we divide by 100 hence we convert ounces to milliliters to simplify measuring.
ALL chemicals should be applied at sundown to prevent burning the leaves. Milk is OK any time as has been stated several times.
Captan can be mixed with water for spraying but is a poor choice so is seldom used this way. Rather it is dusted directly onto cuts and breaks that are already wet.

I made a 'paste' of Captan yesterday to put on the stem of one of my pumpkins. Is a paste better than dusting and can it be used directly on the pumpkin?

Tremor, my patches is a combined area of approx. 1400 sf (measured based on fences). The leaf canopy is probably around 1100 sf. How much Eagle would I use? Typically when i spray other stuff, I use one gallon on 1.5 plants out of three.
