What is the optimal location on the main vine. I read at least 10' out on the main vine but is there a distance past 10' that is better?
Also, should I trim the tendrils and the leaf where the new female has started to give the pumpkin more space?

Don't forget to leave slack in your vine with an "S" curve

I only trim the leaf if it starts rubbing and scarring up the pumpkin. It is critical to eliminate the secondary at the pumpkin, as the fruit can grow into it and casue the stem to split.

Jolson did some research on this. 12-14' is optimal based on the statistics.
