What is the best place to order seeds for a giant pumpkin?
I have looked at P and P online, and find it very confusing. If I order from them, what should I get.
I would like to grow a 500lb plus pumpkin with a deep orange color.

http://www.pumpkinfest.org/main.php?page=vegetables you could order seeds from sally hunt, it'll help support there club, there some pretty good seeds on that list,(all have the capabilities, too go over 500#)alot too choose from.
Or you could make a post in the seed exchange thread, and ask for seeds, most will give you seeds for free, growers who offer you seeds will need you too send them a sasbe though. I'm sure someone will see this post and offer you seeds. anyways hope that helped a little taks care Josiah O, Brandt

from the P & P site the 1159 Richards is the best choice for orange and has grown 1 over 1000 lbs.

I tried the link you sent me. they have a huge selection. I threw a dart and came up with this:
Brinkley Pumpkin 2009 1098.5 1502 Wallace '06 x 1161 Rodonis '07 3
Is this a good seed for the size and orange color that I want??

If your looking for big and orange I'd go with the 1307 Poirier 07 (500 northrup x 772.2 Poirier) in the ten dollar section, just my opinion on it.
as for the Brinkley seed, thats one I'd grow for size, not so much for color.

one more thing, the dollar amount is what you pay per seed, the number at the end indicates the invetory on that seed.

Wally, try posting a request for orange giant seeds in the seed exchange forum.

Wally,
Most growers will send you some of their seeds (myself included) in exchange for a self-addressed stamped bubble mailer.
However, if you want to buy seeds, look at howarddill.com.
They also have a selection of seeds from orange pumpkins.

Thanks for all the help so far. The 1307 Poirier 07 was a great chose for big and orange. The lady at www.pumpkinfest totally agreed. I was so close to getting them but she said that she had counted wrong and that they were gone. MellowPumpkin, I need another suggestion for big and orange from the www.pumpkinfest order sheet.
