I know you can't grow Castor Beans too close to the pumpkins and they are poisonous plants. But, they are great plants used for shade.
So what do you think. Would they hurt the pumpkins if they were grown at least 10 feet or more from the pumpkin roots?
They grow around 12 feet tall and bush out.
Any opinions?? or ideas??

I don't know about growing next to pumpkins but I do know castor oil is a main ingredient in " mole med" a very effective water-on mole repellant (might work on gohpers too but I haven't tried it).

The bean or seed is a plump multi figured attractive pill like shape. Within the seed are the chemicals that are considered dangerous if ingested. If there are children in the area I would think twice about growing this plant.
.....never mind the possiblity of "sweet sue" showing up on your doorstep should your seed make a child seriously ill.
