I have a problem with rabbits & squirrels eating my baby pumpkins. if I put a paper cup or paper bag over the pumpkin, would the lack of sunlight to it kill it off?

I just had the same problem, but my pumpkin is over 1000lbs. I had a squirrel or a vole and tried moth balls hot pepper, garlic, ect... The only thing that work for me was an animal repellent I purchased at home depot. They have a couple of different ones but I used critter ridder. Bob

I keep laundry baskets on my pumpkins until they out grow them. After that I put thick blankets on them to prevent raccoons from clawing them.

Max, if you have a small battery powered radio put it in your patch and turn it on to a am all night talk station. See if that works, I know it works pretty good for deer.

Miller's Hot Sauce - 400 times stronger than the grocery store stuff plus it doesnt was off. Police pepper spray is made from it.
