My pumkin is cantaloping can my pumkin still grow fast and still hold together? Do this mean skin is getting tough and will not stretch? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thank You

It'll still grow. She just won't be as resilient as earlier in the season.

As long as the skin is healing quickly you'll be fine. When mine cantalope I know they end up being heavier than what the charts say.

once it has healed over and changed color it is pretty much done growing

Mine is cantaloping too. I covered it with a big quilt all season and wonder if that could be why? I also did calcium applications early in the season. Could it be a genetic thing? I used allot of organic fertilizer. Atleast it will hopefully go heavy.
