Hello,
our pumpkins seem to be growing well for a week or two, but then one by one are showing signs of rotting. We now have 1 left per plant and we are getting worried...
The plants look perfectly healthy. It has been raining a lot more than usual here in Colorado. Could that be reason?

Thanks for the help

Sounds like they are aborting, did not take when they were pollinated. Was the weather real hot when you pollinated them?

aborting even after 20, 25 days? One of them is already 40 inches around. We pollinated early morning, but it may have been hot on those days.

Thanks

I have added some more pictures, since we now lost all the pumpkins and some had reached a 40in circumference already...
I cannot believe polllination is the only problem... I can see one or two fail, but all of them? Could it be something else? Thank you soooo much for teh help. The kids are sad.

Pollination not taking and aborting are two different things. If you got that many inches then it definitely pollinated. The fruit aborting can be caused by quite few things. Did you have a soil test done before the season? Could nutrient deficiency, to much rain at the wrong time, to much heat at the wrong time, disease, etc. Pumpkins can abort at a much bigger size than yours was.
