I came back from vacation and something is munching down my leaves and the ends of the vines. I thought maybe it was slugs so I applied slug bait yesterday. This am more leaves were eaten along with flower buds. I sprayed Sevin on the 16th but we have had alot of rain. Is it to late to use Bayer Tree and Shrub? If not, do I apply as a drench and foliar? Can this be applied along with Sevin? The leaves are not entirely chomped (not a groundhog)and they leave the stem. I have not seen any beetles, do they feed mostly at night? Thanks for any advice!

If you have cucumber beetles you will see them in the flowers during the day. It sounds like something else, maybe rabbits or other small rodent.

Well maybe it is a young woodchuck. My daughter thought she saw one in the garden. Do they climb? I have a 4 foot fence around the entire garden. The fencing is stapled to 2x6's all the way around - I can't see ANYWHERE that they could have gotten in except over the top. Didn't think they could climb - any thoughts?

They are excellent climbers! They are also great at finding small holes in a fence. I've never had trouble with ground hogs eating leaves or vines, only fruit. Rabbit perhaps? I'd inspect every inch of the fence....
Grub control certainly wouldn't hurt at this point but I'm guessing that most of the grubs are "adults" by now and above ground.

Thanks for the help - Is Bayer Tree and Shrub only good for grubs then or will it kill off other bugs?

Forgot to mention I set up a "live" trap for the woodchucks - Haven't caught one yet but they haven't been back to the garden either. I am using watermelon gum, apples and lettuce! Not sure what they like, besides tender pumpkin vines, so if anyone out there knows if they are partial to one veggie over the other please let me know.

The active ingredient in Bayer Tree & Shrub puts a lot of food on the table. Do a search here for IMIDACLOPRID
The subject has been covered extensively.
