I had a female flower. It didn't show any signs I know of that it was going to open the next morning. Well it did and I didn't get out to the pacth till 100 o'clock. I am almost sure that it got polinated because I have a bee hive in the patch.I have another female flower that is another 2 foot out on the vine. Then that is it. I am out of patch. How do I tell when she going to open.
Thanks-chris

When the tip of the flower turns orange. You can tell in the evening the night before.

If you use a fine mesh bag or a nylon 'footie' you can bag the next one a day or so early, just in case you miss it the night before. It will mean you will need to bag males as well every night.

Ow, at least here the farthest someone has to go is a mile (walkable). I find that I can check that flower during the day but I will find she's ready to go ten min before dark when at 6 pm (and light out) it looked like a few more days. (bagging boys after dark with a flashlight is very common here)
