I was walking in the patch carefully then, suddendly, i saw that many of my side vines roots were eaten by something...... STRANGE;;;;;;;;;;

So, after a long moment i saw some birds coming to eat worms in the soil and eating my roots, thinking they were worms............ I have to buy something to make them afraid but what......... ???? For the moment, i have put plastic bags in the air of the patch, but, will they resist a long time to this new attraction ?

The best for the end: i have to polinate some pumpkins in a few days....... i have to buy a cat ( yes, kaarina )

If you have any black wires sitting around your house that won't ever get used you can scatter them around the garden and the birds will think they are snakes. I don't know just how effective it is but it seems to be working for me. You'll have to reposition them often so the the birds don't figure it out.

Richard, if you can reach the top, putting perforated plastic shopping bags over the heads and cutting off the leaves nearest the heads so the birds don't have anything to sit on will do the job. Brian

Oh and a bb gun is always an option if your shot is good enough to avoid hitting the plants. :)
