Subject: should i shade my new 6 day old pumpkin??????????

hey everyone got another question my first pumpkin is 6 days old and growing good so far !!!!! should i be shading it with a sheet or something or do i let the sun hit it?? its pretty hot today and i cover it up at night so the varments dont get it !!!!!! its now 8 inches long and 15 inches around , polinated my 2nd. one at 12 foot this morning gonna choose between the two!!!!!!!!! and hope for the best pizza

we use some old plastic lawn chairs for the first week or so, be sure if you do this to anchor the chair to the ground. ( in case of wind storm) this method helps the young fruit breath better and is a good cover in case of hail early on

Cheap white resin lawn chairs are your bestest friend. Use it to shade the intended female 3 days before you pollenate up to about 10 days after or as long as the fruit fits comfortably. At 10 I usually decide keeper or not and build a regular shelter and install the mill fabric after that. You can put a concrete block on the seat, and it will hold in 80mph winds!

ok cool got chair out back that will be perfect!!!!!! hey pap i managed to get all the side vines untangled and headed in right direction!!!! should help with size plant looks a little bigger!lol thaks everyone pizza just had peporoni sausage and onion for din din! oh yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!
