as a 2nd year grower here, i have never had a successful hand pollination take last year and only ended with an open fruit at weighoff.

yesterday i pollinated 3 fruit, kind of wondering if they took.......but may take a week to see.

He let the bees take care of the pollination so it is not a controlled pollination (no way to prove where the pollen came from, which plant etc.)

Jeremy, how many males are you using to pollinate? I have found that 3 to 4 males per female gives a pretty good average of success.

Sneaky bees, I so curse sneaky bees! 3 males per female is a good ratio, you can get enough pollen on her then. Congrats on your first round of punkinporn!

Also, a wise grower advised me to use a very small, very fine bristled paint brush (like those used for pin-striping on cars) to brush around the pollen inside and all over...works great!!
