Went out to the patch this morning to find one of my back up plants completely dug up, the entire rootball was exposed. Fortunately the root system was still very moist and did not dry out. I buried it and watered it in again. Is it done for??

Plant looks great today, no wilting whatsoever. I guessing, like any other plant, as long as the roots don't dry out there's a good chance for survival.

I caught a raccoon in the act last night, on top of the bird feeder. I'm thinking the coon smelled that yummy fish fertilizer I've been feeding the plants!

Lis, you need to get in contact with the North Shore Boyz. He is a certified swim instructor for the various patch visitors. I'm sure he would be happy to give you some helpful hints to get the animals out of your patch!

I've got a coon that leaves my patch looking like the moon when I use fish fertilzer...so far he hasn't destroyed my plant.

I have had ground hogs dit up newly planted pumpkins and they have survived. Do what you can to keep critters out of the patch.

Saw that coon again this morning during daylight hours. It may be rabid and time to "get rid of it".
