It seems that the main vine of my pumpkin plant is growing upside down. Leaves grow down and then turn up. It's weird.
Reading some of the diaries, it appears as though this is not uncommon.
Any suggestions as to how I should fix this?

Post a picture to diary, either the plant got pointed the wrong direction or the vine is confused. You will either have to flip the main over on a very warm day gently then train it to come around, or.... post a picture for us please.

as long as the leaves are pointed up it makes no difference once you bury the vines it might even root better and be more stable in the wind. just worry more about the weeds and pruneing the vines.

I'll post a pic as soon as I can. Right now, however, the problem is that whenever it rains, the leaves get "beat down" and touch the ground. Then, they get "stuck" in the mud and some of them don't spring back up towards the sky. It's tough to explain, so I'll post some pictures for you to look at...
Thanks.

Problem fixed. Thanks for the help. I just did a little extra "tacking" down with some coat hangars, and it's going good now...
