Hi. Our plants are in on time this year and already quite big. I am putting on a green spoonful of miracle gro in each plant's trough in a bucket of water. I figure until I see a problem in leaves etc. just keep feeding them. I also put ash from clean wood in trough area for trace minerals and also throughout growing area and raked it in and also chicken manure from our chicken coup mixed into soil in growing area too. It is only our second year of growing so I am just going with them looking really healthy is good hahahaha. If you see any problems in our photos please let me know. We got ribbon vine on one vine corrected and it is growing well. our biggest vine is now about 8' wide and 7 1/2' long from stump to end of main vine but growing about six inches a day in this heat.
Am I correct in feeling healthy looking means healthy plant? Thanks. Steve

I would rather the plant tell you it's hungry than you find out it's full by dying.

Estaban I grew with miracle grow last year and when my when plants were that size I used an overhead sprinkler with an inline feeder and I would use a bag once a week and run the sprinkler for about two hours to cover the whole root zone. Once I had a good fruit set I would throw about 5lbs of 0-0-60 under the whole plant area and would continue with the miracle grow once a week. It worked pretty well I grew a 1013 from a 1378.5 Pitura. It wasn't big enough though so this year I am going organic.

Hi. Thanks. I was thinking of going organic myself - more expensive but better fertilizers. I am glad you said this. I will switch to organic hahahaha. Steve

I have switched to a tea that the local hydroponics store has set me up with. Peruvian seabird guana mixed with molassas in water and setting for 24 hours before pouring onto root area. It is 10-10-2. In a couple months I will switch to Jamacain bat guana tea 2-10-2 mixed with molassas and hi potassium fertilizer. Both organic. I used this potassium one last year for last month and had what I felt were great results. Thanks again. Steve
