have 2 week old pumpkin plants want to plant out side tommorow its been really nice out and there sucking water up every day getting bigger!!!!!! growing good in pot! what should i do? they have 3 leaves and r growing!!!!!!!thank you ,pizzapete, new jersey

Put them out but make sure the young plants are protected from any potential frost, or even cold weather close to frost, as well as wind. A lightweight wooden frame with plastic wrapped around it protects them nicely, also keeps them at a warmer temperature during the day, just be careful you don't cook them.If you make a cold frame be sure you can ventilate it.

thanks i planted today put some fertilizer in hole not to much !!! planted on hill limited space,how often do u use fertilizer and do they have a kind that is liquid, or am i better off with a powder form? thanks again love this site hope my pumpkins take over neighborhood ha!ha! pizza

You should use a higher nitrogen fertilizer this time of year.

You should be ok. But watch the color of the leaves to decide to fertilize or not. You want medium green not really dark green. Less is better for a young plant. Once the vines run, use a liquid fish and seaweed mix and blood meal (dry)

ok thank you, they are doing good and the color is just as u said green but not to dark , and i see another leaf sprouting up out of the middle of the plant ,built wind barrier too, worked good got up to 30miles an hour plants held up good !pizza ps. i like peporoni and sausage on mine!lol!!! pizza
