Hey everybody, I'm gettin ready to plant my seeds (with hope that the rain will quit sometime soon). I'm in Arkansas so everything is plenty warm, just too wet. But when do I need to plant if I want a pumpkin ready to come off for the weighoff at our state fair the 1st or 2nd week of October? If I leave my pumpkins on the vine very long after they stop growing they rot due to the humidity down here. Any tips.

60 days from planting out to pollenating... 70-110 days for growing... Figure 60 and 80 to 90 is 150 days or 21 weeks. And for a fumble or two at pollenating, 22 weeks.
Sept is 30 days, August 31, July 31, June 30, that is 122 days. May is 11 in already so 20 there. Get them in the ground....

If its too wet put down plastic over the planting site to dry it out while your seeds are germinating.Get seeds going today. For competition weigh-offs the first Saturday of October you should start seeds around the third week of April.
