Great thing about this site is all the information, including on where to get some great seeds. Hard part if figuring out what to put in the ground :D The following is what I have but I only have a spot for 2 900 square ft plants. Any opinions on what to cross for my first solo year? Oh, and is the deep freeze the best spot to put the rest. It's non self-defrosting :)

why not plant three 600 sq ft plants instead of two at 900.
600 sq ft is more tham enough to produce a big healthy fruit.
and your percentages for a biggin go up as well.

I was thinking about that but there is part of the patch that won't get light until about 11am and I was worried about that.

at worst case you grow the 3rd plant as a back up or pollinator plant remember a lot of things can happen through a season ... a small pumpkin is better than no pumpkin at weigh off
