I'm thinking of making my own soaker hoses, has anybody ever used a regular hose, with small holes drilled in it as a soaker hose? will it work, maybe work but not as good as a regular soaker hose? thanks

If the pressure was real low you might get some drip out of it but pretty much you would get streams of water coming out. The output wouldnt be consistant either one if it was lower or higher would change the volume. The hose would probibly also swell up around the hole if any of the webbing in it were cut when the hole was drilled. Just my 2 pennys though.

Soaker hose is pretty cheap. Also keep an eye open in garage sales and you will find soaker hose quite often. Dan

I have used soaker hoses and have not had good luck with them. They tend to plug up inside, and you have to stretch them to unplug them.

I have quit using them.
