Depends on how much room you have. I think the average for plant size is around 500 square feet. Some grow them much larger. Average main vine length is 20 to 30+ feet long and sides around 12 feet. Figure it around that. You can go with smaller plants but if you want big fruit the more area per plant the better.

THE MORE PLANTS YOU PUT IN THE BETTER YOUR CHANCES ARE OF BRING A GIANT HOME AT SEASONS END.
YES IDEALY 450 IS THE LOW END OF SIZE FOR A GIANT PUMPKIN PLANT HOWEVER. LARGE PUMPKINS CAN AND WILL BE GROWN AS NEEDED ON SMALLER PLANTS. NECESSITY IS THE MOTHER OF INVENTION.
IF ALL I HAD WAS 450 SQ FT ID STILL TRY TWO PLANTS. ALLOWING 225 SQ FT FOR EACH PLANTS, STARTING AT OPPOSITE ENDS OF THE GARDEN WITH THE MAIN VINES MEETING AND TURNING AWAY FROM EACH OTHER IN THE CENTER.
ALSO OTHER PLANT DESIGNS IN THE SOON TO BE RELEASED "DICKS TIPS 2"
THANKS, PAP
