My biggest pumpkin is starting to turn a light orange.I've kept it covered with a white towel for the most part. Does this mean the growth will stop soon?

This question has been asked alot lately so I thought that I'd post some pictures and let you know that once a fruit starts to turn orange....it will still grow alot if there is time left in your season/plant.
Steve's fruit in mid-August at around 170 lbs.

That gives me a boost of confidence for the two of my plants that are getting orange already. One of them taped 178" on the 18th and the other taped 202" on the 18th. That day would have been day 34. Not going to hit 1000, but 300 or 400 for them would be acceptable.

100 was my goal last year too. I did it with a 125 and a 155 (only store bought seed too). Now this year I am over 200 with a month to go yet. Good luck to you. And a warning as well........this pumpkin growing thing gets more and more addicting with every year you do it.
