Both are doing great and are a day apart and exactly the same size when taking the day difference into account.
These are only 18 inch apart about 13 ft out on the main....should wcull one now assuming they are sharing the same food source? Or do we have time to make sure a crack doesn't develop without robbing too much energy?

Bacon, only 2nd yr grower , but that sounds like a bit to much strees on the main vine. maybe let them both grow a little bit longer, then pick one to reduce the stress on the vine. but i like the 10 day measurment. Bill

let em go a few more days then do the deed, take 2-3 days to cull, slicing the stem a bit at a time

look for the best set point...do you have enough slack..which one has the longest stem without a problem in it..is one down hill from from the main...is one up hill from the main...any visible cracks in the stem at the vine..any rot showing...all these are considerations if you intend to hold a pumpkin growing the whole season..and there is alot more..believe if it can happen it will...GrowEmBig! If all else is the same, keep the one further out. Cull the other in three cuts over three days
