I had to go on a road trip this week and was nervous about putting my wife in charge of my plants. I left on Tuesaday night for Mississippi, got there Wed. afternoon. then headed to Alabama to visit a hunting buddy. Spent a day and a half there and split to come home Friday morning. Nervous all the way! 2500 miles of driving in 3 and half days watching the road and wondering if my plants were ok! Got home Friday evening to see that my plants were doing absoulutely wonderful. Healthy looking and grown out two feet since I left. More females have appeared further out. Hoping to get some pollinating done by the end of this week. Moral of the story!!! My wife is awesome!!!

Very cool! My wife is a major part of everything that happens in the garden.

On the flip side, I wouldn't have a pumpkin patch without my husband help. It's great when you can help each other out in your hobbies.

I don't mean to one-up-ya but I'd be ungrateful if I didn't share that my wife if fully pregnant and by her own choice works out in the patch and garden with me. It helps that she grew up on a farm, but doesn't lessen my increased love for her.

My hubby is buying in now, watching that tiny little plant take over (Fat Fred) then produce that big orange thing... and the other two fair plants joining in. A few vines have gone up the windbreak fence (FF) making it look like something else... (more grief than worth to cut them out, I just cut the female flowers off). He will turn sprinkler on and off if I ask him, and that is more than enough for me. My need for more and more stuff he's been very good about (like two more chunks of mill fabric, even more goodies to feed vines with and a pair of cleated patch shoes so I don't end up with a massive body sprain right after watering.. and so on) Not to mention pumpkin ramblings and reports on the latest measurements. Without an understanding spouse, it's much harder. Only thing I worry about now is he wants patch space of his own next year.... The yard is mine, he will help me eat garden produce (that is edible) and doesn't say a word about the furry front lawn....I'll mow it soon... kudos to him!
