Can some one tell me how long it takes for the female flower to set good with the pollen of the male flower and how long it needs to stay covered? or do I just leave it covered till the flower dies away?

Thanks, sperog, on another note if the female is just barelly open and it is just after sunrise can you open the female flower manually and then hand pollinate? Had to go to work and I was in a hurry and I won't be able to make it out again till thursday, I hope I didn't mess things up I am sure it was going to fully open this morning I could see orange on the tips of the petals yesterday. Thanks again

You should be ok with that. It's been done successfully before.
