I als asked in general discussion but have not had a response. I have a pumpkin the size of a basketball which is about 12' out on the main vine. It has a small split in the stem now but seems to be growing very well. It had 6 segments when polinated and looked very healthy, still does. I have another two polinated at about 14' and 16'. They were both 5 segments but the 5th segment on both seemed a little deformed. The one at 14' is the size of a softball and the one at 16' is the size of a baseball. They both look good and both seem to be growing. I have read several posts and in books that record size pumpkins are coming of vines 14'-18' feet out. To make matters worse I may have to move the end of August. I hate to cull a pumpkin that looks so good now, but if I am better off culling that one for one that will grow better I will. Advice with and without the move involved would be greatly appreciated.
