Anyone else in the Northeast seeing them? Or anywhere else in the world for that matter. I see what they do to the trees around here. Also, does anyone use Diatomaceous Earth powder for slug control?

We had them about 3 weeks ago, ate the hell out of the wifes rose bushes before I noticed and sprayed. Never saw any on or around the pumpkin plants though. Have not seen any now in about a week.

I have seen them near the patch, but luckily not near the plants yet! Hopefully it stays that way. What kind of spray did you use? I should probably get that done now instead of later!

Had a few of the tent caterpillars in the trees here, caught 2 nests before they broke out, but i'm sure there was more.

BIG24NUT, I used Orthenex here. Most any insecticide will do them in though.

Mark, do you spray the Orthenex directly on the young pumpkin plant? If so at what rate do you apply it
Thanks

The normal rate is 1 tablespoon per gallon. I drop it back to half that on a young plant and spray VERY lightly. Doesn't take much to deter catepillars.
