On these side vines that you cut off at or around 12' out, do you put anything on the end that you cut off to prevent disease?

You could use a little Daconil but most folks just bury them and they seem to do fine.

Let them stick out in the sun for a day to dry then bury them.

Last year many the side vines I cut and buried kept growing out. Had to re-cut and bury again. Will leaving them out a couple days help prevent this?

It should. The cut end dries fast, then bury.
