this may the wrong section to post this question! when looking at some of the pictures of the lobes, i noticed some have 3, 4, or 5. does having more lobes represent better genetics or does the number of lobes not really represent anything ? my opinion would be a better plant genectically, but i'm new and don't know. any thoughts about the number of lobes !

The more lobes the better. More chance for good pollination and from what I understand usually produce bigger pumpkins. As far as genetics, I doubt that just because a pumpkin was grown on a 6 lobe female that the offspring is guaranteed to throw 6 lobers. I think that varies regardless of genetics.
