not sure if this is the right section to post this question ! when weighing the pumpkin, does it have to be a sponsered event to make the pumpkin official?? this is regarding the retrieval of the seeds and the cross to make the pumpkin. for instance, if you get the pumpkin weighed at a festival, local one out by me, but its not an actual sponsered event, can the pumpkin still be considered ofiicial(regarding seeds and crosees)?? or would i have to have it weighed at canfield,oh to make it official?? i checked other posts and did a site search and couldn't find any answers, sorry if i'm repeating the question!! thanks in advance!!

As long is it a certified scale and you have witness's it is official. If its a record pumpkin...paperwork will be required.

I would think it would need to meet all the GPC rules too on the weighing like stem length, no blankets, pallets etc.....
