I posted this exact question in the Pests, Diseases and Other Problems board, I'm sorry!
I need to post some photos and ask for HELP! Will someone please tell me how to upload photos to this site? Do I need to start a diary?

Thanks garysand. I submitted two photos to the gallery. Here's the story. I noticed tiny black jumping bugs all over the leaves, which also started turning yellow. I sprayed with Sevin and the whole plant seems to be doing better. I also am concerned with the way the stem looks. Is it SVB? This is my first pumpkin plant and I really want to make it work. Thanks!

Jill, look at the first photo of the stump that you posted. If you are looking at the photo like I am now, look where the stump meets the ground towards the top of the photograph. Now look down just about an inch on the full size photograph and slightly on the left but still on the stump. Do you see the brownish looking hole there? Go out to your plant and investigate that and see if that is indeed a hole and if there is gooey brown stuff around the outside or inside of it. Just looking at the photograph it looks like a borer entry hole and that would cause leaves around the stump to turn yellow. If it is, it does not necessarily mean it is the end of the plant. There are posts on this site that will help you if that is the case and if you have trouble just ask as their are many helpful folks that post on this message board. Good luck.

As for the first bugs seven will do the trick. The stump has been bored into by svbs. I have the same problem and hopefully your plant still has a chance of making it. My stumps look worse then that and the leaves around the stump have turned yellow also. Hopefully both of us can make it through the season. Everyday I go to the patch I just cross my fingers and usually leave with my head hanging. I currently have a pumpkin growing on a svb infested plant thats estimated at 450 pounds which is good for Georgia and is only 34 days old. But like I said every days a challege. Id continue to spray and hope for the best.
