I have a pumpkin going right now that is about 11 days old that cracked or more like tore on the blossum end somewhere around day 5 and was leaking clear jelly type stuff. It has seamingly healed. How comfortable would some of you who have grown for a few years be with letting this pumpkin continue? This pumpkin has a real nice shape and long stem compared to what I have been seeing on this plant and I would kind of like to keep this one. The tear was pretty small and looks healed up good but am just concerned about that being a week spot and coming back to bite me later. Have any of you done ok in this situation or even had this situation and it caused a problem later on in the growth of the pumpkin? Thanks for any and all input. AW

Based on this photo it would be outside the white circle on the blossum not like this one.

Basically it was just a little tear that leaked for about a day and did not leak much. The pumpkin seems to be growing nicely and is healed and am basically just wondering in I am in for trouble down the road with this.
I borrowed this link from the post below this one and hope that is ok. Thanks AW

Thanks Gary for the reply. I still have it on and it is picking up size so hopefully it will be ok.
