Does that mean it just seperated from the pumpkin,broke off, won't grow anymore, I see Mr. Frantz's pumpkin that was growing so well split the blossom.

thats what one looks like. blossom end is usually the thinner end. when you get a hole to the inside, it's on the deathbed.

Blossom end is opposite the stem end. The blossom ends up being at the far end once all growth is finished. As stated this is the thinnest part of the pumpkin. In the post weigh-off, folks cut up their fruits, measure & sometimes post pictures of their blossom ends. Thick ends with gradual transitions are the least likely to split so are considered good breeding traits.

Oh, there is even more to learn about pumpkin growing then I thought. So, Frantz's pumpkin bottom split open in other words,,I'm still going to inquire about seeds from him in november if he's given them out.

Oh hang on Fog, you have only just begun...lol......theres really is alot to it....and the more you read and learn the more nervous you get too......they say it takes years to relax and grow once one knows how to grow BIG.....Im holding my breathe even now.......lol
