I planted way to many plants in my pumpkin patch and now all the vines are growing on top of each other and all over the place will this effect the size of my pumpkin?

Yes, I think the water and food available wont go to that one plant, it will be devided up amongst them all.

i have 2 plants planted in my patch.....the biggest one had about a 6' main vine when i went on vacation last weekend.....10 days later now, it is 15' long and each secondary vine is roughly 8-10'.
i accidently broke the main vine about 11' out form the stump so i am thinking of cutting it and baurrying it there..
