i have a squash growing on a dead headed secondary vine about 10 feet out, it has a split in the stem with a hole in it. i have calked the hole closed and have been pretty much waiting for it to stop growing....IT HASNT! it is growing very slow, day 24 will be about 60 or 61 inches, (80 lbs). what is a realistic guess to how big this fruit my get by october??? does a fruit like this ever pick up speed at all.....is 200, 300 or 400lbs even a worth thinking about?

Hey Petey - how big was the hole?
Does it appear as if the calk patch is helping?

I have a similar issue with my biggest fruit, 66 in cir.
The stem has a couple of cracks in it. I was thinking about calking the cracks and supporting the stem/vine joint.

Someone else has surely had this type of problem.
Guys can you help us out?

Thanks - Ceis
