I have always buried my vines for years. best to use compost or dirt. When i run low on compost, i mix the compost and dirt together. I have never used pure manure. Maybe if it was well rotten and you mix it with some dirt or compost. good luck

I'd be afraid of burning those new roots that just forming.

I use TAGRO....treated sludge from the city sewage treatment plant mixed with sand and sawdust. Roots seems to love it!

Hey Ben....it ain't so bad! It is heated/cooked to kill all pathogens. The heavy metals have been removed. It smells a whole lot better than the chicken manure that I bring in.

Hey Stan - Any Idea what Geneva uses?
BTW - If I could get a couple of yards I'd plant in the Tagro.
Jeremy -You can use composted bag steer manure from HDpot or quality bagged potting soil (like Miracle Grow). I have had good results with both.

Good Luck - Ceis
