I have only found "sulfate of potash", that is comprised of 0-0-50-18s with the 18 being the sulfer. It is a dust or granular form. Is this ok to apply? If not could someone tell me what or typically where I can find a potassium product? Thanks.

You could go to Menards or Walmart and get some Miracle Grow Tomato food. I'm pretty sure this would be just fine.

Look for "Muriate of Potash" 0-0-60. Sulfate of potash will send your ph way low. No use fighting your ph, when there is a better way. Schultz Tomato Booster plus has 18-19-30 at available Menards. Do you have like a co-op or a feed mill around. They have a 09-28-30made by agway .Where in Wisconsin do you live?

Thanks for the help! I live 15 minutes north of Madison. I found the sulfate of potash at our local co-op/feed mill, but have not tried menards or walmart yet. Rainydays, is it still ok to add the 18-19 portion of the tomato booster blend even when the fruit are already growing? And when can the potassium safely or should be started? I've heard to start at pollination and some say when 20 days old. Hey Randooo, have you ever gone to Nekoosa's pumpkin fest?

Yes I have, last year I checked it out for the first time. I couldn't believe what a big deal it was! I was there to see the state record hit the scale (908.5 lbs.). I would have loved to get one weighed last year, but I figured I'd get laughed at if I would have showed up holding my best pumpkin under one arm. The fear of hearing the words " I'm sorry sir, the mini gourds go over there" was just too much for me.

I can not see any disadvantages to feeding the Tomato booster. Most people feed a Scotts 20-20-20 through out the season. Day 20 is when the "Big Dogs" start pumping on the potassium. They also split a few in the race.
