I am a newbee at this, but now that I have three plants and one pumpkin on each of the plants. What do I do with all the extra vines that do not have anything on them that are coming off the main stem? Do I cut them or do they supply energy to the pumpkin?
Also, how do you know when it is stopped growing and when to cut it???
Thanks, Jared

if you have the room let them grow to about 2 feet or so then nip the ends, they help stabalize the main vine. if they get to long they steel nutrition from the main vine.don't cut the main vine unless you have to,then leave at least 8 foot beyond pumpkin. if you do cut it be sure to bury the end.
