This is a dumb question...but im a newbie...Are you to plant the seed on its side,pointed up, or pointed down? or does it matter?

Do not plant it pointed end up. Some lay it on its side. Personally I plant mine with the pointed end down. Doing it this way you will occasionally have to help the seed coat off once it is out of the ground. If you lay them flat it seems the seed coat comes off on its own.

flat about a 1/2 inch underground, and plant more than one because sometimes they all don't come up.
