I had two of my main plants develop splits lenght ways about 6 inches from the base. One plant split again at the first leaf cross ways and I lost the plant. Should I go ahead and trim the leaves away from the split on the other plant to prevent stress on the split??

Trimming the leaves would also allow more sunlight in to dry the split. I have done this in the past.

Look at the previous post(nevada) I used twist ties to heal my splits. Good luck.

I agree with both you guys, I had a split earlier this year. Treated with Captan, made sure it had plenty of sun and wrapped with a bread tie. Healed like a champ!

I trimmed a few leaves around the split and treated and wrapped the split. Thanks for the help.
