Just how long does it take for the pumpkin to lay down it's main vine? Mine are still reaching for the sky. What can I do to help them? They have only been in the ground for 2 weeks.

Start working it down now-- a little at a time.

Do this only in the heat of the day, dont force it too much or it will break. I staked mine up to help keep the wind from splitting it during this critical stage until she touched. Also leave on the tendrills which will brace it to the ground. Good Luck

Went and bought some plastic clothes hangers and cut them apart....my family thinks I've lost my mind, and am using them to secure the vine's as they grow. It may not be doing the trick, but it makes me feel better.....Shaw and Schaffer have laid down, still waiting on the Conley and the LaRue. Thanks BoyG and WIZ!!
