Can someone give me some tips on prunning? I need someone to explain to me which is the main vine and what to cut. Right now I have 4 big vines (they all look about the same size, but not quite) growing in four directions. Kind of like a North, East, South and West thing. I am starting to get little vines growing from where the big vine meets the plant. I am pretty sure those have to go. what do I do about the 4 big vines? I thought I read somewhere that you are supposed to bury the vines to create a double root system. Huh? Thanks for your help.

One plant should have one *main* vine. After it reaches 4-6' you should start seeing *secondary* vines. Most growers leave all of these if they don't interfere with fruit placement. Any vines that grow off of a *secondary* vine is called *tertiary* growth & it is removed immediately.

If you have unique space constraints then fancier pruning methods might be in order.
