How far into the garden from the edge do you plant the pumpkin. Is there a norm?
Thanks.

It depends on whether you want the main running into the garden or toward the edge. If you plant so it runs into the garden 3-4' from the edge is what you need. If you plant so the main runs toward the edge you want about 25' minimum. Generally a 20' main vine is the norm. This depends on how big you ultimately want your plant. Many growers plant 2 seedlings in the center back to back. That allows each to run toward the perimeter. About 4' between plants is a good distance.
