Hi again, Excuse my ignorance (again) but I am reading about growers using molasses on their patches. Can anyone explain the benefits/drawbacks of this ? I am a little puzzled Thanks

PJ - The molasses feeds the beneficial micro-organisms in your soil and provides sugar to the plant....LB

Thanks Longbeard. What sort of concentrations are we talking about here ? I`m assuming that you will mix with water ?

2 weeks prior to planting..... calls for 4 OZ dissolved in warm water and sprayed to soak in 1/2, to feed the good bugs. If you need more to cover your patch make more.

4 oz of molasses to one gallon of water, I also put in some fish and seaweed too, prep the patch now for next weeks planting.....If you can get alfalfa meal, and kelp meal....all good stuff, put it on too now....turn it in at 6"

Pete, Pete, Pete,
As a second year grower who has ask all the same questions you'll ask this season. It's better to ask the question than to damage or kill your plants.
Good luck in 2007
